21 November 2012

Rockwell Collins recently received a $35 million award for satellite communication services from the U.S. Army Communication-Electronics Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. This is the latest award under an $88 million indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery contract for services.

The award calls for Rockwell Collins to provide satellite communication services, including operations, maintenance, upgrades, and training in support of Army missions in the U.S. and around the world. Rockwell Collins will provide the services as part of its FlexForceTM Life Cycle Service Solution, a comprehensive service offering for defense and government agencies worldwide.

“The flexibility and proven strengths of our FlexForceTM solution keep customers mission-ready while minimizing risk and cost,” said Scott Gunnufson, vice president and general manager of Service Solutions for Rockwell Collins. “These services include operating and maintaining critical satellite communication equipment that provides data, voice and video communications from remote areas to enhance the situational awareness of the warfighter.”

Gunnufson added that today’s challenging U.S. Department of Defense budget climate puts a premium on cost-effective equipment sustainment.
