Aiming to expand the distribution network for its satellite communications products, Rockwell Collins has established a Value Added Reseller (VAR) program. As part of the expansion, ADS, Inc., (Atlantic Diving Supply) is the first dealer to qualify as a VAR under the new program.
ADS, a provider of operational equipment solutions for government customers, including tactical communications, brings a number of capabilities to the program including a flexible contract vehicle, the Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) Contract, administered through the Defense Logistics Agency. Through the TLS contract, ADS and Rockwell Collins have been awarded an order for 37 SWE-DISH CommuniCase® Technology CCT120 satellite manportable terminals. The terminals will be used by a U.S. government customer as part of an emergency response communications suite.
“This program will enable Rockwell Collins to reach customers we haven't been successful in reaching previously, leveraging the expertise of our VARs to provide customers with solutions tailored to their specific needs,” said Bob Haag, vice president and general manager of Communication and Navigation Products for Rockwell Collins. “We expect the VAR program to increase our footprint in the marketplace and expand the value of our satellite communication solutions.”
Every authorized Rockwell Collins satellite communications dealer has the opportunity to qualify and enjoy additional benefits through the VAR program. In order to participate, each candidate is required to meet certain criteria and demonstrate an ability to offer additional value and benefits to customers beyond those typically provided by distributors.
