Javelin, a 50/50 joint venture between Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc.'s Media division, and Warner Bros. Entertainment's digital content distribution division, Global Digital Media Xchange (GDMX), today announced that Javelin has acquired the assets of HulaMX, LLC (HulaMX).
Javelin, the digital delivery platform for distributors, advertisers, agencies, and movie studios, delivers HD and SD advertising content ubiquitously reaching more than 7000 TV stations, networks, and cable outlets via satellite, internet, and the cloud. Its high-speed satellite and Internet connection to dedicated servers supports high volumes, unmatched quality, and secure single-source HD and SD commercial file delivery. Javelin will now feature improved support of HD and SD commercial delivery to smaller regional markets and expanded markets using the HulaMX software/Internet solution. Custom file formats developed and maintained for TV stations allow for seamless integration with TV destination systems, and Javelin's hybrid server and software solution better supports the industry's need for improved flexibility without the investment of additional hardware.
"With Javelin's strategic acquisition of HulaMX and Deluxe's end-to-end solutions in post production and distribution, Javelin is delivering improved quality of HD and SD advertising at a fraction of the cost," said Cyril Drabinsky, President and CEO of Deluxe.
"Research indicates higher audience retention with HD spots, nearly double that of standard definition viewing," said Darcy Antonellis, President, Technical Operations and Chief Technology Officer, Warner Bros. Entertainment. "Javelin's advanced MPEG-4 based platform is state of the art and allows our clients to deliver their highly produced content rapidly and efficiently to television broadcast and cable partners. With the addition of the HulaMX, Javelin has extended its reach and support of the marketplace with an additional, innovative technology solution."
