Inmarsat Government -- US Opens Office at Aberdeen Proving Ground
Jan. 30, 2012
Inmarsat Government - US, formerly Segovia and Stratos Government Services, Inc. (SGSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Inmarsat plc and a leading provider of secure, global telecommunications to the U.S. Government, has announced today the opening of a new office location at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
The new office, located at 6210 Guardian Gateway, Suite 155, is a key addition to Inmarsat Government - US headquarters in Herndon, Virginia. The expansion includes a dedicated and cleared sales personnel located on site to better serve U.S. military organizations in greater Maryland that require readily available consultation for end-to-end satellite and terrestrial services.
Opened amid a new organizational structure and renewed focus on core vertical markets announced by Inmarsat earlier this month, the new office also reinforces the importance of local and long-standing partnerships with the U.S. defense community, established by the company's newly formed business unit, Inmarsat Government - US. Consistently recognized for its high level of industry expertise and trust in the market, the company provides secure, global network connectivity solutions to U.S. Department of Defense, for which it is the operator of one of the largest VSAT networks by terminal count.
"In addition to expanding our commitment to our existing customers at Aberdeen Proving Ground, our new office allows us to serve as a resource to newly relocated tenants following BRAC," said Bill Raney, SVP Strategy and Development at Inmarsat Government - US. "The vital need for forces to be fully networked through secure, global connectivity is ceaseless, even as military commands are changing location, and we want them to know that we're on base to seamlessly support these ongoing needs for our armed forces."
