Row 44 Expands Coverage Globally with Hughes and Intelsat's Ku Satellites

April 6, 2011

Row 44, Inc., provider of the world's leading in-flight broadband entertainment platform, announced that the company is expanding its coverage capabilities across the globe by combining Hughes's HX modem platform with Intelsat's IS fleet of Ku-band satellites.

Row 44 currently offers service in North America, Europe and the Middle East, and is already executing on a plan to expand service to Mexico, the Caribbean, North Atlantic and Russia. This latest announcement identifies Row 44's rest-of-world coverage via Hughes and Intelsat and, based on the timing of Intelsat's IS fleet target service dates, Row 44 expects to offer global service by the end of 2013.

"Row 44 continues to execute on our mission of helping airlines around the world provide an unparalleled in-flight broadband entertainment experience to their passengers," said Row 44's President, Gregg Fialcowitz. "Offering this extended coverage through two of the world's largest and most trusted names in satellite broadband – Intelsat and Hughes – ensures our future ability to deliver that premium experience to our airline partners and their passengers, no matter where in the world they fly."
