July 8, 2010

Globecomm Systems Inc. has secured two contracts to provide wireless managed services to service operators in Antigua and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

These contracts will provide CDMA switching facilities for voice and data services to wireless operator subscribers and roaming partners in Antigua and Turks and Caicos.

"Our hosted mobile core switch demonstrates how Globecomm can help wireless carriers seamlessly and profitably advance to the next generation of mobile services," said Andy Silberstein, Vice President and General Manager, Services. "We are proud to provide these two Caribbean-based wireless operators with voice and data services utilizing our hosted switch platform."

Globecomm currently provides wireless managed services utilizing its hosted 2G and 3G switch platforms, offering cost-effective hosted wireless services and extending coverage to operators worldwide – without a major capital or operational investment. Globecomm’s robust 3G platform has 4G upgrade capabilities to address the evolving wireless standards and technologies.

Globecomm maintains a dedicated power system, redundant fiber circuits and generator systems in its Hauppauge, New York-based Network Operations Center in support of switch platforms, where engineers and technicians provide 24/7 network monitoring and customer support.
