Intelsat
S.A.,
announced
that
Brazil's
Intelig,
a
leading
fixed
telecommunications
provider,
has
signed
a
multi-year
capacity
contract
on
Intelsat's
recently
launched
Intelsat
14
satellite
(IS-14)
located
at
315º
E.
In
late
2009,
Intelig
was
acquired
by
TIM,
one
of
the
largest
mobile
operators
in
Brazil.
As a
result
of
the
acquisition,
the
company
has
integrated
its
fixed
and
wireless
network
infrastructures.
By
using
Intelsat's
capacity
on
IS-14,
Intelig
will
be
able
to
expand
its
network
that
serves
more
than
41
million
mobile
users.
Over
the
years,
Intelig
has
utilized
Intelsat's
satellites
to
deploy
a
modern,
all-digital
nationwide
network
that
provides
voice
and
data
solutions
for
residential,
corporate
and
carrier
customers.
This
additional
IS-14
capacity
will
enable
Intelig
to
deliver
high
demand
mobile
applications
and
other
service
offerings
that
support
the
country's
growing
requirements
for
reliable
voice
and
data
services
well
beyond
the
Brazilian
urban
centers.

networks

customers

now

expanding

wireless
telephony
services
to
the
most
remote
areas
of
Brazil."
