EchoStar's ViP-TV Enters Reseller Agreement With Texas Systems Integrator Mega Hertz

EchoStar Satellite Services L.L.C., announced that Mega Hertz, Inc., has joined the ViP-TV™ Reseller Program. As a reseller, Mega Hertz will market the ViP-TV transport solution to cable systems and telcos seeking a competitive IPTV solution for popular video and audio channels, including high definition.

Mega Hertz of Fort Worth, Texas, is an IPTV technology integrator and offers a variety of cutting-edge communication and entertainment solutions for IPTV distributors.

"Mega Hertz is a great addition to the EchoStar ViP-TV team with their 35-year history in the business," said Vernon Smith, senior vice president and general manager of ViP-TV for EchoStar. "We are excited about bringing next generation IPTV solutions to market with them."

EchoStar's ViP-TV transport service offers a suite of IPTV services that includes approximately 300 popular, broadcast-quality TV and music channels in IP H.264 format. ViP-TV can also provide satellite-delivered local TV channel aggregation in a telco's designated market area in both high definition and standard definition (where available).

EchoStar resellers can take advantage of ViP-TV's new reduced-sized blade server and chassis-style receiver system. The new blade-based system reduces required rack space, power consumption and operating costs in the head-end.
