Announcement of World’s 1st
EPFA Easy Flat Panel Antenna for GEO
Coinciding of the announcement
of the SBN-1 Program , Saturn is please to announce
the partnership with nexTenna and their latest
breakthrough in Flat Panel Technology to develop and
produce a novel Ka Band Flat Panel Antenna.
The EFPA (Easy
Flat Panel Antenna) is capable of transmitting 10
Mbps from the user and receiving over 100Mbps from the
SBN-1 HTS GEO satellite network.
Weighing less than
1kg, installed with a DVB[1]S2X
broadband modem and an integrated Wifi 6/6E AP,
digitally steered beam forming antenna from nexTenna and powered by an integrated
solar array, the EFPA will the world first
self-deploying, auto pointing and auto tracking flat panel antenna
that will be available for under $1,000 retail.
The
best aspect of the EFPA is that it will consume under 30W of total
power allowing it to be easily powered by low cost
solar arrays. The SBN-1 customers will be able to use the EFPA
for rural WiFi projects, IOT services and for comms
on the move applications including connecting automobiles,
transport vehicles and small vessels including over
2 million fishing vessels around the world today that do not have a
data connectivity solution. The EFPA is ideally
suited of location with lack of electrical infrastructure ,
minimal or non-existent technical skills to install
typical GEO 2 way VSATs. Prototypes available by 1H 2024 with
commercial units will be available in 2H 2024 about
one year ahead of the SBN-1 fleet of six 100Gbps Ka-band HTS.

Tom Choi, CEO of Saturn
Satellite Networks “With this exclusive agreement
with nexTenna to develop the worlds first low cost flat panel array
terminal, we will now finally be able to bring
extremely low cost WiFi to the 3 billion people in the world living in
rural communities with no electricity and other
critical infrastructure. We are excited to combine SBN-1’s lowest
satellite capacity pricing with the easiest to
deploy and low cost terminal for communities that have been very
difficult to reach and to deploy traditional mobile
or satcom services. We finally have a solution that can bring
critical internet connectivity to any corner of the
world”
Dedi David Haziza. CEO and
Founder of nexTenna stated “ nexTenna LEO/GEO Ka
revolutionary steerable antenna technology provides the lowest
power consumption, highest spectral efficiency and
overall lowest acquisition cost and overall operational cost
for the emerging markets see the collaboration with
Saturn as a strategic partnership enabling connectivity on a
global scale and collaborate on both production and
delivery to market. “
