30 June 2016

SpeedCast International Limited has completed the implementation of a managed satellite solution for Resolute Mining Limited (Resolute), whereby SpeedCast will provide and manage corporate voice and data communications from Resolute’s production site in Mali back to their Perth headquarters.  SpeedCast seamlessly integrated the service into Resolute’s existing infrastructure, while improving voice and data quality at a reduced monthly operation expenses and almost zero CAPEX investment.

Utilizing our unique network and human infrastructure, SpeedCast delivered a high quality optimized managed satellite service, enabling better and faster voice and data communications between the Syama mine and Perth headquarters, as well as a higher throughput link for exchange of vital operational and corporate data. As a result, Resolute is able to enjoy a 35% reduction in their monthly operating costs. Furthermore, following seamless integration with the existing hardware, Resolute were able to better utilize their existing investment without compromising on quality and efficient utilization of the satellite network, resulting in an increased ROI from Resolute’s existing capital investment.

Leveraging our extensive engineering and support network in Africa, SpeedCast were able to provide in-country support with installation, on-site storage of spare equipment and user training – all available in the users’ local language - French.

“Resolute is always on the lookout for the latest technology and infrastructure to enhance safety, security and general productivity on site, and communications are playing an increasingly important role in this,” said Richard Bray, Resource Geologist / IT Manager at Resolute.  “SpeedCast was able to design and deliver a communications solution that met our standards, with outstanding maintenance and support throughout.  We are looking forward to implementing the next phase of this project in the near future”.

“At SpeedCast, we believe that the people behind the technology are equally important as the technology behind the people”, said PJ Beylier, CEO SpeedCast. “Although SpeedCast has the infrastructure and technological capabilities to connect people anywhere in the world, it is the skill diversity and strategic location of our people that made the success we achieved for Resolute possible. This is also a powerful example of revenue synergies at play, with SpeedCast France (previously named Geolink and acquired in May 2015) playing an important role in the success of this project. It is exciting to see SpeedCast bringing to Africa the same quality of services and support to our customers that they have been used to in other parts of the world”
