Av-Comm wins multi-year satellite deal with DFAT

Sydney-based satellite group AV-Comm has announced a multi-year panel contract with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in support of their satellite communication network.

Av-Comm was jointly awarded the satellite support contract along with Hills subsidiary Step Electronics. It followed a competitive tender process involving several respondents, according to AV-Comm, which noted that this had included many of its larger competitors.

The company said it was a significant milestone in its evolution to become a leading supplier of satellite communications solutions and equipment in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.

“The contract opens up many new opportunities for Av-Comm and affirms AvComm’s ability to successfully leverage its satellite communications knowledge and technical resources to provide value for an increasing number of Australian government and non-government organisations,” the company stated.
